Meet The Team

Kangaroo Island Estate comprises of a very enthusiastic “hands on” team. All tasks from construction of the vineyards through to bottling have been done by Terry and Cheryl, their small dedicated seasonal workforce and even their three children Rachelle, Kimberly and Frank lend a helpful hand. We place great emphasis on quality and consumer satisfaction, providing you with a superior product. Come and help share our passion for wine and love for Kangaroo Island.

Terry and Cheryl have lived on KI their whole lives and over the years have become very involved in the community. They have been involved with the KI CFS for a combined 30 plus years, playing a huge role in the 2007 fires which claimed a third of KIs bushland. In 2003 Cheryl was awarded the SA Schools Wine Show – Viticulture Workplace Employer of the year award which recognises her commitment to supporting Vocational Education and Training in Viticulture. She was also awarded the “Community Individual Award” in 2005 and the “Australia Day Citizen Award” in 2009. Terry and Cheryl thoroughly enjoy the hands-on experience of growing and making their boutique wines and, consistent with reasons they entered the industry, they advise that Kangaroo Island Estate wine is “Best served in the company of friends”.

gregsandra Greg has been involved in the wine industry for much of his life. Greg met Terry and Cheryl while living on KI in 2003-2005 with his wife Sandra. Multiple vintages for Pirramimma, Hardys and a number of boutique wineries saw Greg gain extensive knowledge and valuable experience in the wine making process. He has now completed three vintages for Kangaroo Island Estate and currently lives in WA. During each vintage he stays with the Mays and we even get him out in the vineyards to do some picking! Gregs ability to make wine centres around a fierce passion, wealth of knowledge whilst working in the industry, tastings, reading and questioning the array of winemakers he knows and has been privileged to work with.
