The 'Kanangra' Vineyards

The name Kanangra, Aboriginal for “a beautiful view”, was given to this area by the soldier settlers for obvious reasons. Kangaroo Island Estate is set on 20 acres of prime vineyards just 5kms from the “heart of Kangaroo Island”, Parndana. The vineyards reside on the Seddon Plateau in ironstone soil overlying clay. The vines are systematically pruned each year to increase fruit quality, and fed from the rainwater dam which sits adjacent. Incredible views towards Stokes Bay, Mount Brown and the Wisanger Hills can be enjoyed from the banks of the dam.
